New York. That city that many of us dream about walking on its streets one day. Famous by so many TV series and Hollywood movies. A mix of cultures and nationalities, incredibly cosmopolitan, where you can easily hear many languages spoken in its streets. The skyscrapers, Central Park, Wall St, Rockefeller Centre, Radio City... behold The Big Apple!
Reality, as some times happens, differs from Hollywood movies; New York is indeed beautiful, but as well as dirty, its people can be quite aggressive and there is a sense of rush in its streets that makes you feel like the end of the world is near and whatever you have to do, you'd better do it now.
Besides those negative aspects, we cannot deny the fact that The City has one of the most beautiful skylines, and that the magic that its multiple skyscrapers lights show during dusk is striking. Many options are available to observe it from the heights, i.e.: the Rockefeller Plaza observatory, the Empire State one and the newly opened one in Freedom Tower, the tallest one in the western world.
This is a short essay on NYC and its architecture, from the point of view of a tourist with only 48hs in the city. As usual, while clicking in the image you will be able to see it in Flickr in a bigger size. I hope you enjoy!
